In groundwork construction, concreting refers to the process of laying concrete as a stable foundation or structural component for a building, road, or other infrastructure project. It involves several key steps and is integral to the preparation and stability of the ground prior to construction.
Before concreting, the site is excavated, cleared of vegetation and levelled to provide a stable base, Temporary molds or formwork are installed around the area to shape the concrete as it’s poured and to prevent it from spreading beyond the designated area, In many cases, concrete is reinforced with steel bars (rebar) or mesh to enhance its strength and durability especially for structures bearing heavy loads, such as foundations and slabs.
